Beaufort Fitness: Never Fear Workout No Matter How Fit or Fat You Are
Walking into a gym might sound like a scary event for some of you. The mere idea of setting foot into a Beaufort fitness gym, where people are sweating, making grunting noises, counting their repetitions (“reps”) and judging you is just too much for some to bear. So many people opt to buy a weight loss DVD in the hopes that it will solve all their health, Beaufort weight loss and Beaufort fitness problems. But what’s worse is that most people give up on a fitness before they’ve even started. And it isn’t really because there’s sweat, noise and athletes in the gym… is it?
A lot of people put in mind that it’s really about the judgments or perceived judgments that we think come our way at a Beaufort fitness gyms and how we think we look. “I remember walking into a fitness facility and feeling intimidated. I always thought that while on the premises of a fitness center, my fat jiggled more, or the skinny, fit people were laughing at me, or the lighting would expose all my flaws and faults. I didn’t like the way I looked and hated the way it made me feel. And I resented the very place that could help me feel better about myself… fitness centers.” Aside from physical appearance, people assume a bunch of different exercises and Beaufort fitness routines to do each time they set foot in a gym, thinking if they will do squats, lunges, push-ups, and asking themselves “Am I even doing the move properly?, More weight? Less weight? More reps? Who knew?“. They thought walking into a Beaufort fitness gym will make them look silly besides the rates being paid to Beaufort fitness experts. As the saying goes “Ignorance is bliss” but not in Beaufort health and fitness. Here’s a story from one of our clients at EarthFIT:
“Ignorance allowed me to eat and drink and spend the gym/trainer money on getting more and more unhealthy. I was at a point where I could barely fit into my clothes anymore and started developing health issues that would definitely grow into serious problems like high cholesterol and blood pressure if I didn’t take care of myself. So, after wrestling with that for a bit, I decided to conquer my insecurities and research the right fitness center in Beaufort for me. This is what I came up with…
I visited a few Beaufort fitness centers and decided to get a complimentary assessment at EarthFIT. It was great. Why? Because it was different. I didn’t feel like I was being judged and the EarthFIT staff really listened to my concerns. Unlike the big box gyms that to me, only care about your membership money, the EarthFIT Beaufort fitness center is more personalized and is 100% results oriented. Larger fitness centers prey on the old me. They survive on taking our money because I would pay for a membership and never show up. That’s not what the EarthFIT fitness center is about. Even better, now that I train at the EarthFIT Beaufort fitness center, I don’t have to think up exercises on my own and worry about whether I’m doing the right thing. EarthFIT does the thinking for me and I know I’m guided by a true professional. I’m no longer afraid of whether I look silly in front of other people. And get this – the cost is only a fraction of what a personal trainer would be – with a money-back guarantee! You can’t get a better deal than that at a Beaufort fitness center.”
Top 5 Things You Didn’t Know about Gluten!
Top 5 Things You Didn’t Know about Gluten!
Special Guest – Dr. Tom O’Bryan
The video talks about Gluten and top 5 things you didn’t know about gluten.
What’s the first thing our audience doesn’t know about gluten?
Dr. Tom said “a paper just came out and said “Should we be nervous about gluten sensitivity?” and what it talked about is that people that have headaches as one of their concerns and seems becoming from gluten if they see the association… 36% of those people have white matter lesions in the brain, it’s dead brain tissue and of their group if the person is still having gluten once in a while consider once a month is once in a while, everyone of them have lesions in the brain.
Now lesions in the brain mean dead tissue, dead tissue means the connections can’t work quite the same and as spiraling down concept. For some of people that have recurred headaches, not all of them but for some of them, the culprit is gluten and we see it regularly when people stop the exposure to the food they are sensitive to, the headaches go away.
Other studies show, I’ve got 5 different studies in my old day presentation reversing the lesions in the brain on a gluten free diet, they do pre imposed MRI.
1 – If you got brain damaged sometimes it can be reversed on a gluten free diet.
2 – Skin. The age groups that are really interested in finding out and there are more receptive to what I eat maybe messing with me seems to be late teen agers, 20s, 30s going into their 40s, they’re receptive and what they don’t know, many of them, is skin. The skin maybe the only manifestation of the sensitivity so it can manifest as acne, it can be cold sores, it can be dry skin, dry lips, much worst it can be psoriasis, dermatitis, lots of technical thing but any skin condition that is not getting better with the treatments that should be making it better, just think about “I wonder if this is gluten that’s causing it…”
3 – Allergy. One of the most common symptom of allergies of any type is the tea. It’s the number 1 symptom and with gluten sensitivity it frequently is, people are just downed, they are dialed down in their vitality level and we often hear when you go on a gluten free diet within a couple of weeks, you’ve got juice like you haven’t had in years.
4 – It kind of goes along with brain function which the white matter lesions and headaches would be but that’s suicide. Suicide rage are increased in people that have silly act disease in children. There’s a 40% increase in the likelihood of suicide in a silly act child compared to a non silly act child. That’s bad but what’s even worst is there’s different degrees of identifying silly act, it’s obvious, it’s not so obvious or it’s really hard to identify, you have to know what you’re doing. And for that third stage where it’s really hard to identify, you need to know what you’re doing which is they’ve got intestinal inflammation but the blood test are normal and the endoscopy is normal but they’ve got the inflammation for that group, it’s 96% increase risk of suicide for children and it’s because no one is teaching them how to implement a gluten free lifestyle so they feel social outcast, it’s called social phobia, and they just don’t know they are embarrassed to be with their friends, they don’t go to the pizza parlor, they don’t go to school, they don’t want to eat with people in cafeteria and so they don’t go to school, they don’t go out and they develop a social phobia, a depression and the result is unfortunately it’s too high risk of suicide.
5 – Mortality, increased mortality with or without a gluten free diet. First – without, they did a 32 years study following people and what they found was that those that were vigilant about gluten free diet, their mortality was half of those that just silly acts in general cause in silly acts in general, you’re two times more likely to die early in life of something. It’s called the standard of mortality ratio, you’re two times more likely in general for all silly acts of heart disease, cancer, Alzheimer’s or something but earlier in life if you’re silly act. Those that were following and strict about the gluten free diet, it was half as often instead of twice as often cause they’re taking care of themselves, they’re watching what they’re eating but those that were pretty much gluten free, defined as eating gluten once a month, once a month exposure they were 6 times more likely to die early in life compared to the general population.
Gluten exposure is 1/8 of a thumbnail is all it takes. So if you order a gluten free meal and they bring you your salad with croutons on it and you pick the croutons off, you’re going to get the exposure because there’s little crumbs in the greens, you got to get new salad, they can’t pick off the croutons, you got to get new salad.
Children diagnosed with silly act disease have a 3.2 fold that’s over 3 times more likely to die early in life with or without a gluten free diet. So those kids, they’re on a gluten free diet, they still have the increase mortality and die early in life. It’s because no one treats the damage.”

Finca Bellavista Costa Rica EarthFIT Rain Forest Workout
“Hey! What’s up? It’s Ian Hart here with EarthFITtraining.com and right now I’m in the Costa Rican Rain Forest and I’m going to do a workout. So when you go on vacation sometimes you don’t have access to a gym, depending on your environment where you are at, you’ve got to figure out how you workout in, so I am going to use my environment.
What I’m doing now, as you can see we’re staying up in the tree house in the jungle, it’s up on a hill so the terrain here is very hilly. One of my favorite types of training is hill training – running up hills. So I’m going to run up this hill… and I’m going to add a little weight it and then I’m going to look a spot to do push ups and pull ups. So I threw on a backpack, it’s probably about 20 or 30 lbs, and this just give me extra added weight so it’s going to get my heart rate going up more as I run up the mountain. Also as you can see I am using boots so I brought up boots with me because the terrain is pretty rough and makes it a lot easier for me to grip the ground as I run up. So I am going to get started here, and this just goes to show that anywhere you are, you could figure out a good way to get a warm up and a workout in.
So Again, this is Ian Hart with Costa Rica Rain Forest Workout, so follow me as I start up…(Please watch the workout video above)
Alright, there you have it. What I just did is a quarter mile uphill 3 sets 30 push ups with the backpack and then 5 reps of pull ups which I’m going to do for few more sets. So that goes to show you that anywhere you are, you can find and use the area to your advantage for workout whether you have a gym, you don’t have any weights or anything like that. Use your surroundings and you could still get an amazing workout.
So again, this is Ian Hart with EarthFIT Blog. I hope you enjoy, take this with you this idea anywhere at any time and get a great workout…”
(Second part of the video)
“Hey! What’s up? It’s Ian Hart here with EarthFITtraining.com, I’m here in Finca Bella Vista in Costa Rica, the southern western tip and what I’m going to do right now is some sprints up the jungle. Alright so here we go as fast as I can and hopefully I won’t fall back down, this is probably about what would you say, maybe 70%? “Yeah 65/70%” 65/70% incline. Alright here we go… (Please watch the workout video above)
That’s how you get down a ridge.”

How I Got Started In the Health and Fitness industry and became a Beaufort Personal Trainer
Health and fitness have not always been part of my life before I became a Beaufort Personal Trainer, as a kid I never played any sports and while my parents ate better than most of the population, it still was not great (Don’t get me started on what my grandparents fed me!). What changed was that about 10 years ago, my parents decided to start eating healthier and buying organic foods, and while I complained because I could no longer have Honey Bunches of Oats in the morning, I started feeling better and my grades in school went up. I was interested in why I was feeling better and had better grades, so being the nerd I am and having Google at my finger tips I started doing my own research. After reading tons of articles, I became obsessed with the health benefits of tea and really focused on learning more about the chemical found in green tea, EGCG. I was amazed at the research showing the anti-cancer and heart health benefits from green tea as well as the ability to increase fat burning (because every teenage boy wants that six pack). After tea, I became interested in holistic medicine and how different plants had medical properties. I bought a huge book on medicinal herbs and started learning as much as I could about herbal medicine.
Two years later, I was entering high school and since I was coming from a small private school (graduating class of 21 students) to a large public school. Since I did not know anyone in the new school, my parents made me sign up for cross country in the fall semester. Now before cross country, the most exercise I did was play around with my dad’s weight set and trying to teach myself martial arts. So when I went to the first day of summer practice and ran three miles and lifted, it was a huge shock to my system. But I liked it and was hooked on exercise. Soon after came my interest in sports nutrition to help me improve my performance, especially the post workout window to increase protein synthesis. I also got my first exercise physiology lessons from my cross country coach when he talked about different muscle fiber types and mitochondrial density, which amazed me!
Fast forward two more years, it was the end of my sophomore year of track season. I was burned out, over trained and on the verge of injury, sick, had no self-esteem, and was tired of people calling me skinny. So I did something about it, I quit distance running and took up weightlifting. I wanted to be big, strong, fast, and powerful not slow and weak like I was. After three months of lifting, I gained over 10 lbs of muscle and dropped to sub 10% body fat. But I was not satisfied and wanted to look like the fitness model Julien Greaux. Around this time was when I spent (aka wasted) a ton of money on supplements that were supposed to help with building muscle. Since the supplements were not giving me the results I wanted, I took a hard look at my diet and my training and compared it to how top strength coaches, powerlifters, and bodybuilders were training and started to make changes. The more I learned on my own, the better results I got so I kept on reading. I was also inspired by many of these people, and decided that I wanted to go into fitness modeling one day to inspire others to get into health and fitness.
Later that year, I was looking at colleges and had no idea what I wanted to do at first, I didn’t think to be a Beaufort Personal Trainer on the spot and, all I knew is that I wanted to help people. Then I found the major called exercise science. Bingo! I knew right away what I was going to be majoring in! I was already obsessed with learning about exercise and nutrition and I helped a ton of my friends out with working out and dieting so why not do it for a living? And off to Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania I went! I decided not to compete in track anymore in college and focus on powerlifting and bodybuilding since I was burned out from running in circles and having permanent shin splints.
Funny thing about college though, isn’t that the place where you go to learn all of this information that you do not know and become super smart? I thought I was going to learn a ton of new information to help me out my freshman year, but I got stuck in a bunch of worthless general education classes designed to make you a more “well-rounded person.” What about sophomore year? Nope, didn’t learn much. Junior or senior year? Nope, not from classes at least. Pretty much everything I learned was not going to apply to me in strength and conditioning/personal training and anything that was relevant I already learned from books I owned or from articles I read.
However, college did allow me to become the strength and conditioning coach for the Bloomsburg University Women’s Basketball team and work as a personal trainer in the Bloomsburg University Recreation Center. I also did a strength and conditioning internship at Bucknell University with Jerry Shreck the last semester of my senior year. These experiences really expanded my knowledge of strength and conditioning! I also sucked it up and decided it was time to start my fitness modeling career.
For those of you that do not follow bodybuilding, there is a new category called men’s physique which wants the fitness cover model look, not the Incredible Hulk look. I signed up for my first men’s physique competition with a natural organization and did a photo shoot with an armature photographer the day after. I fell in love with competing and signed up for another competition later that year where I took seconds place. Then I did a professional photo shoot with my girlfriend in Baltimore. Recently, I took third place at the NPC Delaware Open and qualified for Nationals!
That’s my story in a nutshell. I got started learning and working out fairly young and have never stopped since then. Now I am preparing for my next competition which will be in May in Charleston, SC!
