The first ingredient that I’m going to talk about right now is ginger, that is the first ingredient. So that helps circulate the blood and warms up the entire body. Now when the cold and flu is coming on especially a virus, the body tends to heat up to kill off the virus. What we do sometimes now is take something that is a fever reducer. That is actually the last thing you want to do, you want the body to fight off the organisms naturally and ginger helps with that. So it also eases inflammation, that is also a perfect drink after a workout. So it will help with recovery and it will help a speed of recovery as well as reduce inflammation.
In studies among 6 sailors and passengers on ship, this is also been shown to reduce motion sickness, even women who are pregnant or feel like a stomach upset better than the placebo. So this is an amazing root that can help with a lot of things. So first off, this is a cold and flu remedy, so that’s the first ingredient.
The second ingredient is going to be a lemon.
The third ingredient, we have Stevia, this is basically stevia leaf which is going to be put into the mixture or you can use raw all natural honey. I got this from the Savannah Bee Company, this is amazing honey, it’s raw all natural preferably you want to use raw all natural organic I should say not all natural honey. Honey is also proven to be anti microbial too when you take that with sore throat, you can help clear that sore throat.
So, the first thing we want to do is chop or grate up this ginger root and throw it into a pot of water depending on how many cups you want. So I would say about this size of ginger root would be good for about 4-6 cups of this remedy. Grating it up will be better, you want to put it in the pot and steep it for at least 20 minutes. Actually the longer you keep this in, the more the goodness of this root actually steeps out to the water and then it will help your body. So minimum of 20 minutes steeping into the water. It’s very simple, steeping water for 20 minutes. As soon as it’s done, you pour it to a cup. I’m not going to strain this but what youve want to do is strain this so the ginger root isn’t inside. Take a half of lemon or I like to use a whole lemon a lot of time so half a lemon is good. The lemon is also great as well for providing vitamins and minerals. And then we squeeze that into the top. Okay, and today I’m just going to add a little bit of honey instead of stevia leaf. Normally I keep the stevia leaf inside the ginger inside the heat and that is where the sweetness from stevia leaf helps sweeten up this drink. So I’m just going to add a little bit of honey, so the drink probably like a teaspoon or a little bit more depending on..you don’t want too much honey when you’re sick, you don’t want to raise your blood sugar too much but it would also help your energy as well.
And there you go, natural cold and flu remedy. So simple, easy, you can make this in 20 minutes and it’s going to help you naturally right away.
